Having moved to St. Louis in 1969 to finish Aeronautical Engineering, I finished my Commercial Pilot training and Aircraft Repair licensing in the early 70’s but was greeted by the oil embargo of  1973-74. I moved to Opticianry as I was familiar with a number of vendors and optical shops in the area. I purchased my first shop at that time and moved the profitability from negative to positive territory in less than a year. Twenty-five years later, I was offered to direct the optical department of a large optical, optometric and ophthalmology practice which today has nearly 300 locations. Five years later in 2002, at the insistence of many of my past customers, I opened eyewearhaus, inc. at its present location in Creve Coeur.  The concept was very simplistic: Do the opposite of every optical shop I was familiar with: service first, profitability last. Shortly after opening, I decided to specialize in handmade, limited edition, exclusive eyewear made by small artisan designers from across the world.

Today, with the help of extremely talented, artistically inclined, Board-Certified Opticians and excellent staff, we are locally, nationally and internationally known for the place to go for exceptional customer service and relevant fashion forward eyewear.

We are also proud to announce we have been voted one of the top two Eyewear Shops in St. Louis.
